Alright, I've read the other threads I can find here.
Let me blunt -> Don't tell me to try the Playing Audio troubleshooting... Don't know why you told the other users that... BUT OBVIOUSLY it's working.
I'm playing music, and web videos and everything else. I hear the pinging sound over the other sounds simultaneously. It is like a ping ding, ping-ding --- ping-ding, ping-ding --- ping-ding, ping-ding. And then it stops. It happens randomly it seems too, there is no timed interval for it.
Don't tell me to run an antivirus... I've checked with windows Defender, and Avast, and Malware Bytes Anti malware AND Malware bytes anti-rootkit
There is a serious thing happening here, I cannot pinpoint it, I haven't observed it in safe mode, but I can't do most of my work from safemode, so I can't be sitting in safe mode very long... plus it's random it seems. I mean I'll try observing it in safe mode later this evening... But I checked my start up items, nothing nefarious there either.
My daughter did get a hold of my keyboard and mashed some buttons, activating Narrator which I disabled, but since she got ahold of it, it's been doing this... It seems to happen every ten minutes on the five, example 10:05, 10:15, and just now again at 10:25 ET, but sometimes it's just random. I'm going to hold off on posting this because I just noticed it doing it in that pattern. I'm going to wait till 10:35 AM ET and see if it does it again
I thought it was a sign of imminent hardware failure but everything seems to be in working order.
Please can I get some actual help, instead of a pre-configured catch all response, that rarely ever works?
Short of re-installing windows, which I cannot do until I get an external hard drive to back up my workload... I am pretty fed-up, and it's only been happening since mid evening yesterday.
10:35 came and went, no pinging noise... it's wholly random.
Again... it's not a web tab playing sound, It makes the sound with chrome closed, and all self installed apps closed/terminated
Also, your Topics are very vague, and this doesn't really fit into any of them. So I'm putting it in Devices and Drivers, since my laptop is a device, and it is having an issue, but it's not the driver, which I've already troubleshooted...
