I have had my computer for eight months now running Windows 10 without a issue. Not a blue screen nor serious error message to speak of. While I was watching a movie in fullscreen the monitor went black and the computer shut down and restarted . It was restarting normally until it reached the Windows sign in screen, where after a few seconds the screen went black, came back for a few seconds enough time to read my first ”Preparing Automatic Repair” with dots rotating in a circular pattern, and then back to black. This happens once or twice until the monitor finally goes dark one last time with a”No Signal” message. There was no blue screen, no error message, no crazy fan speeds, beeps or boops that first time, or since.
Now I can not even reach the sign in page. Every time I start up the computer I can see the Asrock Logo, and I can enter BIOS, that's it. As soon as the little rotating circles appear with “Preparing Automatic Repair”, the screen goes black. At some point I noticed the side panel of my mouse that has RGB Lighting flickers, and then goes dark the same time the monitor does. Other lighting on the CPU fan and ram is unaffected.
Booting from the Windows 10 Installation Media has worked once out of a dozen times. It always leads to another black screen. The Windows logo pops up for about twenty seconds and then screen goes black. Unfortunately in that one joyous, heartwarming moment it didn't, I choose to try startup repair instead of reinstall. And BAM back to the loop, of despair, and anguish, and hatred ok mostly hatred.
So yea...any help please? If my only option is chucking the SSD with Windows installed on it, so be it.
Some system specs:
No Overclocking
OEM AMD Ryzen 7 1700
Asrock x370 Killer Sli AM4
EVGA 1070 8Gb Acx 3.0
Enermax Revolution 750W 80 Plus Gold
Coolmaster Hyper 212 CPU Cooler
500GB WD Blue SSD Sata III
2TB HDD Sata III
Logitech g 600 Mouse
Logitech Wireless Wave Mk550 Keyboard
What I have Tried:
Reseated ram and gpu (can not further test if it's a gpu issue because I do not have a spare).
Checked and replaced all display wires.
Removed all other external devices, and tried different monitor, mice and keyboards.
Powered on and off several times can not get to WinRE.
Every time this happens I hear Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” in my head, and it’s driving me insane.
