I am currently running a Windows Server 2016 with two fibre channel direct attached storage arrays (totalling around 120Tb).
The arrays are currently split into 5 volumes, namely: databases, resources, system, case data 1 and case data 2.
I have read on other forums about a theoretical 480TB limit on volume sizes. However, I am unable to create a volume larger than 32Tb through Server Manager. I am currently going through the process of purchasing another fibre channel array, however, I wish to avoid numerous 32Tb volumes and have for example two 60Tb volumes for case data. If I cannot resolve this it means that network traffic will increase exponentially as case data will need to be moved from volume to volume on a regular basis.
SAN is financially not an option for our department =/
