I work in IT and I just ran into a problem when trying to install the Windows 10 Features Update 1803 on a computer. The upgrade couldn't proceed because of an incompatible program supposedly found on the computer. The update reports:
"We couldn't uninstall these apps. You'll need to remove these apps yourself, and then select Refresh. These programs need to be uninstalled because they aren't compatible with the upgrade.
* Roxio Backup MyPC"
The problem is that Roxio Backup MyPC is NOT installed on the computer. It doesn't not appear in the list of installed programs, nor do the keywords "Roxio" or "MyPC" appear anywhere in the Windows registry.
Obviously, the 1803 update must be mistaking some other installed program for Roxio Backup MyPC. I have also tried unsuccessfully searching the registry for the keyword "Sonic" which bought the Roxio brand at some point.
Can anyone tell me how to identify the offending program? Does the Update, for example, leave a log entry saying exactly what the file name or registry key for the offending program is?
