The April 2018 update to Windows 10 crashed one of my three computers. It crashed so badly that it could not do a system restore or a reset. It would not start from the backup partition. So I got a re-install USB and ran the program which, after much prompting, allowed me to backup my personal files onto a second USB stick and that re-install windows 10.
Windows 10 is now working, and going through its exhaustive update process. I cannot, however, induce the computer to restore the personal files on the USB stick. A directory of the stick shows the following --
Index of F:\
Backup_2018-06-07 162152/ 6/7/18, 6:50:22 PM
FileHistory/ 6/7/18, 11:49:10 PM
System Volume Information/ 6/7/18, 5:40:50 PM
So everything seems to be there, but I can't seem to get the computer to restore the files. I've tried to run it from the Windows 10 restore and directly from the stick, and neither seems to work.
Any help would be appreciated.
