My wife updated Windows last night to v1803 and upon starting up (she is on a laptop), her computer no longer recognizes when the power adapter is plugged in. Plugging in no longer provides power to the laptop and no longer charges the battery.
I have the same laptop (model/year) but I did not update to 1803. The first thing we tried was swapping power adapters. Both her power adapter and mine work on my laptop, neither of the power adapters work on hers.
Since there were no other changes made between last night and this morning other than the windows update, our plan was to roll back to the previous update. The problem is that to roll back, Windows requires that you be plugged in.
We have also tried disabling/uninstalling the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" in the device manager and re-installing it as that seemed to work for others but it isn't helping in our case.
Has anyone else had this issue? We've turned the laptop off for now because when that battery dies we'll never be able to get it to power on again...
