Hey guys,
So I bought this laptop about a year and a half ago for school but in the last couple of weeks, it has been acting up more than usual. When booting up my laptop, there is no audio for my headphones (Logitech G430 Gaming Headset). This gets deeper than playback devices. So I tried opening playback devices and it wouldn't open up as in no new window popped up. There are those bars on the volume indicating how loud it is and I am also able to change playback devices by left clicking the volume on the bottom right, but there is still no difference. The headphones does not have have audio. I have tried going into services.msc and starting Plug and Play, Windows Audio Endpoint Builder and Windows Audio and even though I was successful, it only provided a temporary fix. I have tried going into msconfig and noticed that the boot was in Selective Startup mode and I am not able to change it. I have tried going into safe mode and then changing the msconfig setting to Normal Startup mode but I am still not able to apply the settings and it would just revert back to Selective Startup. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for the Realtek audio driver and the Logitech Driver but that did not work.
(EDIT) When having this problem, I changed the playback device to my speaker and rebooted my laptop which worked and only played audio for the speaker. When changing to the headset, audio stopped and everything that played audio would stop working.
My laptop is an
ASUS X541UA
i5-6200
4GB Ram
Intel HD Graphics 520
Any tips or fixes would be really really helpful
