SOLVED: Windows 10 wont recognize my CD Drive HL-DT-ST- BD-RE BH16NS40

Hi there,


I wanted to post this to a topic of the same title but I couldn't.

I managed to fix this via Registry editor directly and this answer needs to be added to
the main topic.


> In search type "regedit", right-click and run as Administrator

> In the RegEdit menu, select "Find" and search for "HL-DT-ST"
> In any folder it finds that contains the term "CdRom&Ven" go inside it and try to delete the folders. If you can't delete the folders because it says access denied, go inside the folder and delete all of the keys on the right side so that the only key remaining is (Default)

> Continue this over and over by pressing "F3" to find the next value until its finished

> Then, go to Device Manager (via search again)

> Right click on the device and remove it

>If it doesn't get found automatically, click on the "Action" menu at the top of the Device Manager and select "Scan for Hardware changes"
> This should install the device correctly
