Network Connectivity Issues
Since the latest major update April 2018, my laptop continuously looses internet connection.
The laptop will remain connected to the internet for about 20 minutes, regardless of activity before randomly disconnecting.
All networks are still able to be found, however the wifi fails to reconnect once it is broken and the laptop needs to be fully restarted in order to get back the connection.
As all other devices on the same network are running fine, there is no issue with the modem/routers.
The following were run to help diagnose and resolve the issue:
In an effort to resolve possible BIOS problems which maybe effecting the connectivity, I attempted to download and run BIOS and Wifi updates from the ASUS website, however Windows failed to recognize the file formats (300 file type) and thus was unable to run them successfully.
It is an ASUS model X series with a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter.
Qualcomm website stipulates that their products do not come with end user support and to obtain drivers from the vendor associated with it. In this case the vendor for this network card is Windows, however I was unable to obtain any such driver assist from Windows support.
Any help in fixing my connectivity issue will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

- Following CMD commands using ipconfig/release "/renew "/flushdns, ifconfig, all failed to resolve the issue.
- The Windows troubleshoot and CMD ping tests also failed to identify any issue.
- Looking in device manager, all drivers appear to be working and with no new updates available.
- Using system services, all services corresponding to connectivity were restarted, and yet the issue is still present.
