I replaced my old hard rive with a new SSD drive and reinstalled Windows 10. I now get an error when activating the computer:
We can't activate Windows on this device as the previous version of Windows was not activated prior to upgrading to Windows 10. Error code 0x803F7001.
This makes no sense as previous version was activated. The only difference is that I can only boot with this drive by not using the Windows Boot manager. When I do try to use the boot manager, the computer boots to the old drive or hangs (if old drive is disconnected).
Is there a way to get a key from the old drive?
