Hello,
We have quite a few of our servers which are showing the above errors in the CAPI2 Operational logs as well as 50 errors of:
Failed extract of third-party root list from auto update cab at: <http://ctldl.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab> with error: The data is invalid.
This is happening every hour since the errors are suspended for 60 minutes before continuing on.
I think from the logs it is to do with the SYSTEM account not being able to download the .cab file but I have tried setting up the proxy for the system account which I followed here:
How to adjust proxy settings for System Account | Symantec Connect
This seems to have stayed in place but still the errors continue as I have checked the HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections\DefaultConnectionSettings location and looked ta the settings and they are correct. and I have checked the SYSTEM account and these match so I am unsure what is happening...
When I go to the link above (ctldl....) I can get the download so I know the proxy is allowing the site through but I cant work out why these errors still appear.
Please could anyone assist?
Thanks
James
