Networking issues since installing Windows 10 April 2018 Spring update

I can't find anywhere else anyone has experienced this problem, so thought I would post it here in the hope of finding an answer.

We have set up a WORKGROUP Peer-to-peer network in our office, consisting of a number of Windows 7 machines, some Windows 10 machines and a Windows SBS 2011 machine.

All was working fine until the April 2018 update was installed on the two Windows 10 machines, now there is an intermittent network discovery issue between those two machines, that strangely doesn't seem to affect any of the Windows 7 PCs

In the network list in File Explorer, both PCs can see all other PCs except each other. However, if I type the UNC file path of each machine into the address bar at the top I can establish a connection between the two and then file share as normal. This would be OK but periodically the connection drops and I have to do the same thing again in File Explorer to get it to re-establish and sometimes even when I do this I get the 'Cannot Connect to PC' message.

I have tried running the Network troubleshooter on both PCs as well as Network Restore, but up to now there has been no resolution to this problem.

All PCs are connected via an ethernet network and assigned to the same default WORKGROUP name. File and printer sharing is switched on, in all cases and all are using the Private Network profile with Password Protected file sharing in place. Whilst some use a dynamically assigned IP address, the two PCs I am having a problem with are both on fixed IP Addresses.

I am completely out of ideas on this one and would appreciate any assistance available out there.
