Last month I started my computer, it was notifying that it was "updating windows". After the update ended., it took me to a blue screen with the options all related to System Recovery whether is by restoring to the previous version or using a backup USB/CD/ExternalHardDrive. Unfortunately I didn't do a backup in case something like this would ever happens. When I managed to access to the normal desktop, all my desktop icons were gone with the exception of the Recycle Bin icon. I noticed my computer was having internet and everytime I clicked the windows button, the menu won't popup, I clicked to open the Recycle Bin and nothing. I kept having notification bars saying things like "selected token doesn't exist", "access denied". The only thing I could do search for my folders was hitting Windows button + R and then click Browser. But every folder was empty. A friend suggested that after the update, all my programs, pictures, videos, etc were still in the Hard Drive but the system is not giving me access to it. I really don't know what else to do. I don't want to spend another $120 on a new windows for something I didn't do. Thanks for your time.
