Windows 10 does not manage my default printer

Hi,

I'm running Windows version 1709 (OS Build 16299.431) and have elected to "Let Windows manage my default printer", which is an excellent functionality that one earlier had to install additional software to get. I bring my HP Elitebook x360 1030 G2 back and forth between three offices, so having Windows automatically select printer based on my location is a good thing.

In one location, I have a DYMO LabelWriter Duo, and so I have its software installed on the computer.

Now, what happens is: Wherever I am, Office and other applications select the DYMO as the printer of choice. As the printer prints labels - typically 12 mm wide - you can imagine that the proposed printout looks weird.

I rarely print anything to the DYMO thing, and the way I understand it, Windows should - for each location - set the printer I used last as the default printer. As it is now, Windows sets the DYMO as the default printer, wherever I am and however long time it's been since I last printed to it (I've printed dozens of documents to other printers in the meantime).

It looks as if I'll be forced to manually set a default printer (and disable the "Let Windows manage my default printer" function) to fix this. Perhaps I have to install third party software to get the automatic selection of default printer based on location - I had this on Windows 7, but I had hoped that Windows would fix this on its own now.

Is there anything I can do short of giving up on the automatic printer selection in Windows 10?
