How to boot Vista from either disk?

D

Donn

Have Vista installed on the second disk and would like to change the
boot order in BIOS so I can have the option of booting from the first
or second hard drive.

Two instances of XP are on the first drive and would like to be able to
access Vista if the C: Partition is formatted.

I have moved the C:\Boot\ folder, ntldr, NTDETECT to the partition and
a multiboot screen did not appear. What files must be copied to the
M:\Vista installation?

Thanks for any help -

Read the material on those links but do not see a way to add the
C:\Boot folder with all the correct paths to an existing installation
of Vista. If the first drive is unplugged, booting into Vista is
impossible unless a person runs the recovery console from the
installation disk.

Installed EasyBCD and VistaBootPro but could not find an option to add
the boot records to Vista. Am not concerned about retaining the ability
to boot into XP from the second disk, just would like to be able to
access Vista if the boot order is changed in BIOS.

Must I reinstall Vista with only one drive plugged into the motherboard
to accomplish this and later run EasyBCD or VistaBootPro when the other
drive is added?
