My setup requires Outlook (Office 2010) running on a Windows Server 2012 R2. When I try to access Outlook programmatically, I get a security prompt saying an external program is trying to access Outlook. I learned that this issue occurs if Outlook cannot get a valid status of Anti-Virus from the OS.
In Outlook, if you go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Programmatic Access, I can see the Antivirus Status as Unavailable. On a client, I believe this is passed to Outlook via Security Center, which is missing on all Server OS.
Can anyone give me ideas on how I can make Outlook aware of the installed Anti-Virus program (SEP). There is an option available in Trust Center Settings to "Never warn me about suspicious activity), but I don't want to use it. Unfortunately there is no option available to make an external program "Trusted".
