what does it take to get these cumulative updates to successfully install ?
e.g., KB4057118, KB4103723, KB4135048, KB4284880
every month, "failed to install" - "Try Again".
They knew it would probably fail , so they put in an option "Try Again". You have to admit, that's hilarious. Until you're 7 or 8 nights into "Try Again !" -- and it still won't install. At this point, you start to lose your sense of humor -- especially when after each fail run, it comes back and says its up to date.
Is this just more evidence of the fundamental truth; that an OS which requires the server to be _unplugged_ because it's so hosed it cant respond to a shutdown instruction -- proof that this OS should have never been ported to pretend it could run as a server ?
seriously, everyone here is tired of this -- what will it take to get these installed ?
These systems are out-of-the-box generic installs, running sql server _standard_ -- no customization, no 3rd party hosted apps, all of them stock ms product -- but they're all getting kicked out of production if this round of updates won't install.
Any advice appreciated.
