Hi, I have a cluster that is using Samsung PM863 drives (no PLP, yay) plugged into the Intel RSTe controller (onboard AHCI controller). I would like to migrate (for space and performance reasons) over to using an LSI 9300 controller with either larger SATA or SAS drives. Is it possible to do this without damaging or re-doing S2D? My thought is to pull one working drive and replace it with one new drive on the SAS controller, let it rebuild, remove the old missing drive, rinse, repeat. Is that a feasible operation?
Another related question, can I migrate the current SATA drives from the onboard controller to the LSI controller until I receive the larger drives?
Thanks!
