How to ensure my CPU is compatible before applying update?

Hello,

Where can I check the system requirements for the Windows 10 updates in general? For example it is possible that my CPU won't be supported in the next version of Windows 10 and I won't be able to boot my system anymore (not even in safe mode). Where is it stated that processors without SSE3 will be still supported in the next update? Currently Windows 10 only requires SSE2 but it can happen anytime that without any warning, Microsoft drops support for these CPUs and Windows cannot boot again.

I'm asking this because it already happened in case of Windows 7, that Microsoft silently dropped support for machines without SSE2 and updating Windows 7 isn't possible anymore on those machines. Microsoft's solution is to "buy a new PC" (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4088875/windows-7-update-kb4088875). Will this happen for Windows 10 too? If yes, when will users be notified? Before downloading the update, or 4 months later their system became unusable?
