Hello,
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction with what I'm trying to do. I'm setting up two new virtual file servers, and want to use DFS to create a namespace that shows as one location (across both servers to the user.) But I don't want my data to be duplicated across both servers, I want different folders to be able to reside on either server.
Example: FS01 and FS02 would create the namespace \\my.domain\fileserver. If I have a folder named Test, I don't want Test to be duplicated on both FS01 and FS02, Instead I would like Test1 to be on FS01 and Test2 to be on FS02, but to the end user, it should all appear to be on \\my.domain\fileserver.
1.) Is this possible?
2.) What is the best way to go about it?
Thanks in advance for the help.
