When creating users home folders via GPP and having the following NTFS permissions set on the Folder all of the user home folders will live in:
SYSTEM = Full Control
CREATOR OWNER = Full Control
LOCAL\Administrators = Full Control
For the Authenticated Users group the following has to be set up ONLY:
Traverse folder; Create folder; Write attributes; Write extended attributes; Read permissions; Change permissions
Everything works great, with one exception.
When the users folder gets created, it grants them Full Control over "This Folder Only".
This means that whenever an Administrator copies files into their home directory, they cannot see them until the Administrator manually forces down ownership changes and file permissions changes.
How can this be modified to allow the user who created the folder to have "This folder, subfolders & files" instead of "This Folder Only"?
The "This Folder Only" permission on the user home folders says it is being inherited from the folder all of the home folders live in but I see no indication of that (See NTFS permissions above).
The following article is referenced below but other articles and postings I have come across use the same permissions.
