KB4048953 failing to install on half of our Server 2016 with error 0x80070005 (access denied)

We had the KB4048953 update fail on half of our Server 2016 VMs giving error 0x80070005 (access denied). Anyone else seeing anything like this? I'll try installing the update manually on one, but it's weird because there's not even any consistency. Some severs with the exact same roles installed it while others never.
