Windows Server 2012 R2 AD not available for adding hosts

Nicholas Kelischek

I have a single Windows Server 2012R2 running as a AD domain server for ~20 systems. A recent storm at 2:00 am caused a 4-hour power outage and the generator did not start so the system went down hard after the UPS gave out. It seemed to come back up fine. It was an opportunity to run updates so I did. Now, days later I am noticing that I can't add new systems to the the domain. I get the "Active Directory Domain Controller (AD DC) for the domain "FOLKSCHOOL" could not be contacted.

So far I have:

-- made sure that the DNS for the client is set to the IP of the DC (192.168.2.100) with no others.

-- set the DNS for the server to itself with no others (127.0.0.1)

-- tried to do nslookups from a client and they work fine.

Here is a run of dcdiag:

PS C:\Users\Administrator> dcdiag

Check the DNS server, DHCP, server name, etc.
Got error while checking LDAP and RPC connectivity. Please check your firewall settings.
......................... FS-SERVER2 failed test Connectivity

Doing primary tests

Testing server: Default-First-Site-Name\FS-SERVER2
Skipping all tests, because server FS-SERVER2 is not responding to directory service requests.

Here is a shot of the AD Event Log:

COULD NOT ADD image due to account not being verified, how do I verify my account?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
