Hello,
We have deployed SharePoint Server 2016 on Amazon Web Services and access the sites using public IP address. Further we enabled apps to be used on the SharePoint from SharePoint Store. We enables the apps as per Microsoft article and created the forward DNS lookup.
The server is a domain controller projectDomain.com and the machine name is PPM hence the fqdn is PPM.projectDomain.com. These a dummy settings, we do not have any domain as such. This server is a development server.
We created a forward DNS lookup appsLocal.com. Now, when an app is added to the site, it gets the address of appsLocal.com. The settings for the apps is prefix-app Unique ID-domain which makes apps-12345678ABCDEF-aapsLocal.com. When we access this from within the server (local) then it pings the local IP address and apps do work. However from the public IP address, when the apps are clicked it throws an error "URL app-12345678ABCDEF-appsLocal.com not found".
I am not a server guy and need guidance in this.
Thank you and
Regards
Tanzim Akhtar
