After formatting my laptop, do I need to reinstall windows 10 using the same installation media as used previously to upgrade to Windows 10?

I have formatted my laptop and reinstalled Windows 10 but it wont activate. I have not used the same installation media I used before to upgrade to Windows 10.


Do I need to use the same installation media I used to upgrade to windows 10 previously? I am using the same device and have made no hardware changes to it. I did format my laptop completely. How am I supposed to re-activate Windows 10? I have my previous Product key, though when I enter the product key, it does not accept it.


Please help!
