Can't enter password

I'm trying to enter my password on my lock screen. I know what it is. But my problem is that my keyboard language is in Russian and I cannot change it. There is no language icon and I tried pressing ALT+SHIFT but it isn't working. It is as if Russian is the only language available. I'm on Windows 8.
