We have four file servers running Server 2012 R2. They randomly become unresposice with the above error when trying to RDP. We cannot access file shares on the servers when they are in this state. All other file servers running server 2012 r2 are fine. Each of the file servers have a drive with about 4TB of data, not sure if this is applicable.
The only way to resolve this is powering off the VM and powering back on again. They are all running on vmware esxi hosts.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?
