Hello all,
I am hoping someone might be able to assist with an ongoing issue our team has been having. Would be nice to get some ideas/suggestions from people who may have had this issue previously.
Our team supports schools in the UK who use a program called SIMS made and supported by a company called Capita. This is hosted on a virtual server, hosted on a physical server per school.
Since October last year we have been seeing an increase in RAM usage on our Hyper-V Virtual Servers that are running SQL with a SIMS Database. Our initial response to this was to log a call with Capita who advised we limited the RAM on SQL, which is what we did.
From that point onward we now have the issue where RAM is being used but is not showing as allocated to any services. It appears to be a memory leak. Just to clarify, this is on the virtual machines and not the VM Host.
We have tried to use Resource Monitor to find a memory leak but are struggling to find anything, could anyone advise on a good tool available to help find memory leaks?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Sam
