Win Server 2012 R2 set up as PDC. Also has Hyper-V installed and running a Win 10 Pro VM. Using the Built in Windows Server Backup.
Seems that a 3rd party played around with the settings, forcing me to have to delete the backup schedule, erase the backup USB drives (that were full because of the 3rd party did not knowing what they were doing) and start my backups from scratch. NowI have it configured to back up specific directories and to NOT back up anything else. No bare metal backup, system backup, none of that stuff. I am NOT backing up the VM. Just eight directories on the server and that's it. However, after each backup completes I get a "completed with warnings" in the wbadmin console. THe details read:
The component RSB-V (Online) was skipped during the snapshot and will not be available for recovery. ERROR: The writer's timeout expired between the Freeze and Thaw events.
I have no desire to back up the VM or anything associated with Hyper-V. Yet wbadmin is telling me it can't back it up and generates an error that causes issues with a task I have set up to run on event ID 4 - backup completed successfully.
Now I've completely redone the backup from scratch 3 days and counting now in an attempt to see if maybe I set something up wrong. But to no avail. I don't want to continue to demonstrate my stupidity by repeating the same thing over and over, expecting different results. How do I make this problem "go away"? I have no clue.
