Old laptop w Win 7 SP1 7601 Error Code 0xC004F063 when activating

This laptop originally had Win Vista. I bought a retail version of Win 7 and installed. What a job finding drivers! (Had two identical, one HDD died, the other screen was broken.) Sat for several years, now I want to use this for Optishot w the HDMI TV in my apt complex.


Produkey reports Windows 7 Home Premium w key ending in 3Q6C9

Entering this key gives error 0xC004F063


Is there any alternative to using

"slmgr –upk

slmgr –ipk (your product key ending in 3Q6C9)"

and will this work without bricking the machine?


Belarc reports Windows 7 Home Premium key ending in XM76F, as does MGADiag which validation says is a default key.
