Hi,
I have a fully enterprise CA in a live environment and am planning to upgrade it successfully. It runs on a VM and have no issues whatsoever on the live environment. I have taken a snapshot and upgraded to 2016 offline and wish to test its functionality. I am also aware that you can only have 1 Enterprise CA in a forest but would like to test the functionality of the 'test CA' to try replicate, cert requests through web enrolment services, crl publishing and other CA.
Is testing this way possible? Would I risk in interfering with the live CA if accesses to the AD are opened from the test CA? Which functionalities can be tested?
Many thanks.
