Flashing Start Button

Why does my Start Button occasionally flash repeatedly for about a minute?

If you mean the light on the physical power button you push in to start your
computer, whether or not it flashes depends on the manufacturer.

When it does flash, it usually means that your computer hard drive is busy
doing something.

Examples: loading a webpage, downloadig email, communicating with instant
messenger services while you're connect, AV scanning, etc.

Thanks for the response! But, no, I am referring to the Start Button on the
Taskbar.
