Force Windows to Maintain Display When Monitor is Off

I have my desktop set up in my living room. I like to stream applications to various devices throughout my home. When I have the monitor turned off and try to stream, I either get incorrect resolution or no video output. The important part is that the monitor is plugged in using DisplayPort.


I want Windows to maintain the display context, even when the monitor is turned off.


I'll save you some time:

1. My drivers are fine.
2. My OS is fine.
3. This is a problem with Windows that has been around for years.

Is there a way in software to fix this? Or do I have to purchase additional hardware to fix a problem with Windows?
