We have a Windows Update policy that tells our computers to install updates at a certain time AND reboot after they are done. This policy works for Windows 7, Windows 2008R2 Server, and Windows 2012R2 server. However, with Windows Server 2016, we are finding that while the updates install as scheduled, that those servers are NOT rebooting after the updates finish. Instead, the server schedules a restart for about an hour later. Why aren't the Windows Server 2016 servers just restarting at the end of the updates? Why are they waiting for some time in the near future? Why not reboot immediately? FWIW, we have the exact same policy for all our machines. Is there a new policy setting that needs to be set specifically for Windows Server 2016 to force the servers to reboot immediately upon completion of update installation?
