Hi to everyone,
i'm facing big problems with a windows server 2016 essential (on a Fujitsu PRIMERGY TX2540 M1) that's managing a small AD - 13 users - with folders redirection and a MySql DB. No users has the ability to install anything or mess with the server configuration.
In the last weeks, users accused sporadically slow downs that worsened with time until a total stuck of the system.
Perfomance monitor showed nothing really wrong, except a big latency of file access. HD raid was OK. Everything looked good.
Here's the stranger part: clicking around, the system blocked when i tried to open the windows update dialog page and stuck for some minutes. On a sunday, i managed the server to install pending updates (with many difficulties since the continued stuttering) and finally everything started to work again. Until the same thing happened.
I decided to prevent manually the windows update service to run (stopped and deactivated from services), and now everything is smooth. But i want my system to be updated regularly.
I already purged the SoftwareDistribution folder.
Could be some kind of file corruption of sorts, what do you suggest?
Thank you very much for any help.
