Trying to get a system state backup of DC for AD recovery purposes prior to a forest prep/domain prep. Can't do the basic windows backup system state backup (or any windows backup on the windows 2016 server). Have tried a couple solutions regarding resetting permissions on .net directories. An issue seems to surface about a limit of 1000 directories, which are well blown past in this more or less default install, but those permissions resets only allow Trusted Installer sufficient rights to delete files. Not clear they'd be safe to delete anyway. Com+ runs under local admin, but it 'can't find' network service to try to assign that rights. totally unclear what next steps are or why something so important would ship and be broken out of the box- and be unattended to.
