Hi,
After I updated Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2012 R2 the system stops processing PPTP incoming connections after sleep or hibernation. The problem disappears after reboot (very repeatable).
Process System (PID 4) does not open port 1723. There are no records in the logs. Restarting the service "Routing and Remote Access" does not solve the problem. Reinstallation of the OS doesn't solve the problem. As stated above, the only way to resolve the problem is to reboot.
This has been driving me crazy for last few hours until I figured out where the process is breaking down. I think this is an OS bug. It's past my level of knowledge, and I don't have a work around. Any assistance is appreciated.
One last note - I have seen a couple of posts where individuals have reported the same issue when they upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. Doesn't seem coincidental!
