How do I restore files in Windows 1o that just "disappeared" ?

Hi,


My files along with the original lock screen just disappeared and from a brand new Lenovo laptop.However, I did make a Windows 10 x64 Repair disc. Can I use this disc safely to return the files without losing my new files and new lock screen ? Is there another way to do this ?
