device registration with adfs

Hi Everyone,

I am not able to find any documentation about device registration requirements? Can someone please confirm if new adfs 2016 with device registration needs domain controller 2016 and domain and forest functional level 2016. I know that scheme needs to be version 85 which can be done with adprep so I don't need to have 2016 DC but do I need to raise dfl and ffl to 2016?
