This is a new phenomenon, from what I can tell (though this is not certain) only beginning sometime after 14393.2515 was applied one week ago.
We have had the Alternative UPN Suffix set in Active Directory Domains and Trusts for about 18 months. It's still there. That's not the problem.
The problem is that a subset of users in ADUC, ones for which we definitely had that Suffix selected on the Account tab, are reverting to the default domain.local Suffix.
If we change it again, it lasts only for X amount of time, ranging from a few minutes to around a half hour. This is repeatable for affected accounts. Perhaps just about 10% of the accounts are seeing this issue--so far.
