Websites look Smaller

Batista is Vista

Hey I just got Vista today, and I noticed that a lot of websites

look way smaller then they used to, comcast.net (my homepage) is so small I
can hardly read the fonts....Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Open IE7, click Tools > Menu Bar > View > Text Size: I use Medium

Spirit, View(visible) does NOT come by default in IE7. You have to go to
Tools 1st, and click on(install) Menu Bar.

Why don't you read other people's posts, instead of thinking that you know
it all!

You might learn something!

Well your are right that you MIGHT need to be able to see the menu bar,
cetainly
makes it easier..... and have a nice day.....

Hi Spirit. It is a weird way they have set it up. You have to look for the
menu bar for "file, edit, view, etc"(menu bar) when you first open IE7.
With IE6 it was all there to start with.

I had to ask on here how to get my email in it, so that it was the same as
IE6.

Is it only with websites, or Windows Explorer, Word, Excel, any program really?
If it is all, it could be your screen resolution.

Batista is Vista

i still dont understand whats wrong with it, its not just the font its like
the whole website is just a smaller website, its like windows xp made
everything bigger, vista makes the websites graphics, fonts, and everything
smaller

Did you install it/someone installed it for you or a new PCF with Vista
installed?

Ian

It has little to do with IE settings. It is probably that your computer
display settings are different. Change the settings to a lower resolution
and try again. To get there right click on the desktop and chose properties.
then Display Settings.

All you have to do to see the old menu bar is press Alt. This works in
other MS apps as well without menu bars, like Windows Liver Messenger.

Are you using the same resolution as you used before Vista? It sounds like
you have changed the screen resolution.

To me your image looks about right. On my screen (1280x1024) the same web
page (viewed online) looks smaller relative to the edge of the screen than
it does on yours. Indeed the great advantage of higher resolutions is that
you get two or more windows onto your screen side-by-side. Changing the text
size can help a bit, but, as you have discovered, that doesn't change the
size of the images or the web page as a whole.

nope everything is the same as it was for windows xp, bla seems like theres
no way to fix this huh? Kinda stupid that this new feature makes everything
so small

Hi,

I visited the site with my notebook 15.4" @1920x1200 and all fonts are
really small and look similar to your image.

Did you get a new system or is it the same system that you had XP before?

If it's a new system, my guess is that it has a "better" VGA card with
higher resolution but then everything will become smaller.

Another poster suggested that you can try zooming the page, which I tried,
and it helped, so you may try that as well.

The size of the window occupied by a web page depends upon, of course, the
size of the window you have set for internet explorer. This is why you have
so much apparent free space on each side of the actual page.

The actual page will be made larger (along with everything else that you see
on your computer) if you decrease your screen resolution. This is **NOT**
recommended if you are using an LCD monitor. These monitors have a "native"
resolution where the manufacturer has determined you will see the best
graphics.
