Upgrade from Windows vista home basic to windows 8

Hi,


I have a laptop bought in january 2007 with :

windows vista home basic SP1 32 bit

processor : intel core 2 duo 1.5 Ghz

RAM : 4 GB RAM while 3 GB is in use currently


I want to upgrade my OS and specially to 64 bit


Can anyone please confirm that to which version I can upgrade my OS to 64 bit


Note : Suggestions to sell the laptop and buy new one are not invited.
