My wife and I went over to a woman's house the evening of Oct. 19th, 2018. She was having trouble with her laptop. It's running Vista. We told her she needed to replace it ASAP because Vista is no longer supported.
She said she's still getting updates. We went to Windows Updates. I was confident we wouldn't see anything recent, but there were at least a dozen updates for October! There were a couple of .NET framework updates, generic looking Vista updates, etc.
Can anyone explain this? I googled around this morning but can't find much of anything beyond old warnings that Vista is no longer supported, and some references to unofficial updates being supplied by 3rd parties.
