Home lab setup: Lenovo M93p, i7 4770, 32GB, 2 x SSD, 1 x HDD, Windows 2016 datacenter eval
Enabled; Hyper-V, Enable PSRemote, Intel RST software installed, Enable-WSManCredSSP -Role server, OS Patch till 30 Oct 2016, deduplication on one ssd, file service, Windows backup service
At the moment I'm building Windows 2016 OS VM template, core and desktop experience (DE).
Installed Windows 2016 eval with DE with gen1, gen2, then patch..
The DE VMs always got this single critical Error ID: 404, Task Scheduler service has encountered RPC initialization error in "RpcServerUseProtseq:ncan_ip_tcp". Additional Data: Error 14.
I had checked task scheduler, COM, RPC, Windows Event Log services are running and there is sufficient memory. Other search related to this error are for older version of OS.
Somehow one of the VM after awhile (hours) the critical error was gone, maybe it is related to disabling of "Download Maps Manager" service, but I doubt. Maybe I try something which I can't recall.
This critical error don't appear on the host. ISO image used for the host and VM is : 14393.0.161119-1705.RS1_REFRESH_SERVER_EVAL_X64FRE_EN-US.iso
Anyone got any clue? I downloaded a new copy of the Windows 2016 eval iso (31 Oct'18), although the file name changed, but file compare (fc) report the files are the same between used version and the just downloaded version.
Thanks.
