I'm experiencing a strange behavior with a Server 2012 R2 machine.
Our client asked why searches on their network drives were so slow. So I suggested we turn on Search Indexing on the server for their share.
Now the drive has about 600,000 items, and it usually takes half a day to build up the index. Everything works great once it's built, but after about a week, it'll reset the Indexing service. The list of indexed places is cleared, and all I can do is go back and add folder, but then it has to build the index from scratch once more.
If I could automate the process of adding the folder back to the list, I'd do that, but I haven't found a way of doing that.
Better yet, would be that the index doesn't clear itself about once a week.
From what I can tell, the clearing doesn't line up with restarts of the server.
