Old computer fried on me so I built a new PC reusing some of the still usable older hardware and some brand new hardware.
When I went to install my new copy of Windows 10, I was hit with error code 0x80070057. I have spent months, (not even joking), searching for answers to this. I have tried solutions from multiple different threads and youtube videos but nothing has worked. I can only use the solutions that don't involve actually having windows already installed because there are new drives. I do not have a PC HDD/SSD with windows already installed. I have tried different HDD/SSD's. I have deleted/reformatted partitions. I have played with different configurations of RAM and making sure the sticks are clean. (The old eraser tricked worked on a previous PC). I have removed all nonessential components from the PC, but that didn't work.
When the Windows 10 USB I received was acting like it was faulty, I tried to install my CD Windows 7 that I have, but was met with the same problem/error code.
I had other issues with the computer as well, but I believe I fixed them, and everything comes back to that error code. (issues like keyboard/mouse not working, other problems I have forgotten about, etc).
I am wondering if it's a hardware issue or maybe a bad version of windows?
I have no idea what to do anymore. Any help is appreciated.
