Update ME to XP

Joe

My parents purchased a digital camera which did not support ME. I installed
XP. Now it appears that my mothers files are there, but not the programs. It
tries to open them in wordpad. Therefore it gives odd symbals. rather than
what she had in her document. It also eliminated her address book in outlook
express. I do not see her virus protection either. Please help to get this
back. I have not installed anything since this happened.

How did you install XP, I assume that the machine was capable of running
XP. ?

Look around add/remove programs what do you see?.

Maybe try to take the most insignificant program and reinstall it and
see if it works right.
