Hi everyone,
this one is giving me a headache:
I have a Windows server 2016 Essentials installed and running as (only) DC. Worked fine so far. DNS ist set up correctly.
I have several PCs, all using Windows 10 Pro with current patch level. In the last days, I made a severe mess in the server's configuration and decided the best way to revert it is to do a full system restore on my server, which went flawlessly. But now, 2 of my clients (all others running fine) changed their network type to "public" and I cannot get them back to "domain". DNS on the server is set up correctly (worked before without trouble and I rolled back to a fully working state), clients are not deactivated in AD. I can ping and access the server. IPv6-DHCP in my router is turned off. Ip config is correct on both clients and server.
I tried manually deleting or changing network type in registry, which will just result in change back to public. Same for disabling/reenabling the network adapter.
I can reach the server from the clients and it's shared folders without any problems.
The dashboard shows an error on computer monitoring for both these clients:
"DeviceProviderReporting!DomainJoinStatusInfo"
I uninstalled the connector, rebooted, logged into a local admin profile, reinstalled the connector software without error - no change in behaviour. I tried resetting router, rebooting clients and server.
Now I am out of ideas on what is causing this error and how to fix it. Please help.
