Anyone install IE7 on windows millenium edition?

Bob

Hello All

Has anyone installed IE7 on windows Millenium Edition?

Any tips?

Is it hard to get back to IE6 if your system doesn't work well with
it?

Thanks
Bob

Eric

It is not compatible. IE7 minimum requirement is XP (or possibly Win2K).

No, for the very simple reason that like for IE6 SP2, the installation of
IE7 isn't supported on any Win 9x platform. The minimum requirements
being XP SP2 or later.

See http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/sysreq.mspx for system
requirements.

As Eric suggested, it isn't 'compatible' with ME and WinMe will sinply
refuse to install it, even if you tried. Therefore there is no need for
'tips'.

Have you used firefox? I like it better than IE and it updates itself
whenever bugs are discovered and fixed.

Eric

I was running IE on my WinME system yesterday and it hung, then the system
crashed. I think IE has a memory leak problem. I replaced it with FireFox.
