Hi everyone!
One of our customers have several servers hosted in a datacentre. All servers run Windows Server 2008 R2. Included are two Domain Controllers. Several offices are connected to the datacentre through site 2 site VPN.
Users connect to RDS servers located in the same datacentre as the dc's.
Me and my team need to migrate the server environment to another datacentre. My idea is to install 2 fresh Windows Server 2016 machines in the new datacentre. Then setup a site 2 site vpn between the two datacentres. Then install AD Domain services on the new machines and add them as DC's to the existing domain. So they'le sync Active Directory.
My worries are, that on the moment i do that, the new DC's wil be going handle logons for the users connecting to the RDS environment in the old datacentre and problems will occur.
My question is, is it save to add the new dc's to the existing domain without any problems? Or is there a better way to achieve my goal??
